One of the easiest ways to be a Birth Advocate is to become a Member of BirthNetwork National. Membership in our organization connects you to birth professionals and other advocates who are seeking to improve birth locally and nationally. Birth Professionals who join as members will be included in our national online Provider Directory. If there is a local chapter in your area, you may also be included in the local online and print directories (when applicable) unless we are notified otherwise.  Parents and others in the community who believe in our mission and benefit from our services can join as a Birth Advocate to support the work we are doing.
BirthNetwork National is a non-profit organization that depends on memberships and the hard work of our volunteers to fulfill its mission. Please join us as we work to improve maternity care. All memberships and contributions to BirthNetwork National are tax-deductible under IRS Section 501(c)3.

ABOUT OUR WORK
BirthNetwork National is leading a grassroots movement based on the belief that birth can profoundly affect our physical, mental and spiritual well-being. BirthNetwork National advocates Mother-Friendly care, as defined by the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services' Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative (MFCI).  By making informed choices and having confidence in the process, families can experience safe and satisfying childbirth.

THREE EASY STEPS TO MEMBERSHIP
1. Choose your Membership Level.
    Birth Advocates - Parents and community members passionate about Mother-Friendly birth.
    Individual Professionals - Individuals providing Mother-Friendly services.
    Group Professionals - Businesses with more than one professional providing Mother-Friendly services.

2. Read and endorse the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative.  You may download a PDF copy of the MFCI or endorse the MFCI online. 

3. Fill out our Member Application.

Individual Memberships

Parents / Community Members

Birth Advocate ($25/Year)
This level of membership is for community members interested in supporting the mission of BirthNetwork National, but who do not wish to advertise a business or service.
Benefits Include:
  • Connection to other local Birth Professionals and Birth Advocates.
  • Access to resources to promote Mother-Friendly care.
  • Becoming a part of a growing movement to improve maternity care in your community.


Individual Professionals

Basic Professional Membership ($50/year)
This level of membership is designed for a single professional working in birth and childbearing fields or who provides other Mother/Baby-Friendly services.
Benefits include all of the above, plus:
  • One listing in both the print and online versions of our provider directory (where applicable).
  • Speaking opportunities connected to your area of expertise as it relates to mother-friendly care at local events.
  • Networking opportunities with both consumers and birth professionals.
  • Ability to distribute your marketing materials at local events (where applicable).

Enhanced Professional Membership ($75/year)
Benefits include all of the above, plus two listings in both the print and online versions of our Provider directory.

Premium Professional Membership ($100/year)
Benefits include all of the above, plus 3 to 5 listings in both the print and online versions of our Provider Directory.

Group Practice Memberships

Businesses & Group Practices

This membership is for organizations, businesses and group practices who have more than one professional offering services in their business.

Benefits of the level of membership selected for each professional in their business.

Small Group (2-5 People):
$100 one category listing (Example: Doula only)
$150 two category listings (Example: Doula & Childbirth Ed)
$200 3-5 category listings (Example: Doula, CB Ed, Massage..)

Medium Group (6-9 People):
$300 one category listing (Example: Doula only)
$450 two category listings (Example: Doula & Childbirth Ed)
$600 3-5 category listings (Example: Doula, CB Ed, Massage..)

Large Group (10+ People):
$500 one category listing (Example: Doula only)
$750 two category listings (Example: Doula & Childbirth Ed)
$1000 3-5 category listings (Example: Doula, CB Ed, Massage)
