The purpose of Rochester Area Birth Network is to advocate for health, safety, and informed options in childbearing. Rochester Area Birth Network supports the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative, a wellness model of maternity care issued by the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS), a group of individuals and national organizations with concern for the care and well-being of mothers, babies, and families.
Who We Are
As a chapter of BirthNetwork National, we are a grassroots organization comprised of a network of childbirth educators, midwives, labor assistants (doulas), family physicians, nurses, breastfeeding consultants, and parents who know the importance of informed options and alternatives in childbearing. While we encompass a broad range of political and religious perspectives, we all agree that birth is a normal, natural, and healthy process and that every family should have the opportunity for a healthy, joyous birth experience with a minimum of interventions.
What We Do
Provide the Rochester area community with important information about Evidence-based maternity care and options that women and families have regarding childbirth, and offer networking opportunities for professionals, parents, and others interested in birth.
When We Meet
Please call Rochester Area Birth Network for meeting dates, location, and times. All are welcome to attend.
